Four credentials, one path

Anthropic runs four role-based Claude certifications. Each path starts at a foundation level and advances to professional. Every exam is proctored and identity-verified, delivered online through Pearson, and a pass is recognised with a digital badge on Credly.

The four certifications

  • Claude Certified Associate: Foundations — practical, everyday use of Claude for anyone working on Claude projects.
  • Claude Certified Developer: Foundations — for engineers building applications with Claude.
  • Claude Certified Architect: Foundations — for solution architects designing agent systems.
  • Claude Certified Architect: Professional — the advanced credential for enterprise-scale integration.

Who can sit the exams

  • Partner Network members only. The exams are available to practitioners at firms in the Claude Partner Network.
  • Membership is free. Firms join and register practitioners at claude.com/partners.
  • Official prep material lives in Anthropic Partner Academy. Our prep works alongside it, not instead of it.

How our prep works

Practised on scenarios, not flashcards

The Architect exam asks you to make the right call when several options look plausible. That is a judgement built on production work, so we teach it the way we build: from real architectures, real failure modes and the trade-offs behind them. We prepare against the current exam guide published in Partner Academy.

What we work through

  • Agentic architecture — orchestration, subagents, when an agent should act and when it should escalate.
  • Claude Code workflows — conventions, skills, hooks, permission modes and review gates.
  • Prompts and structured output — schemas that fail loudly instead of flowing downstream.
  • Tool design and MCP — tool boundaries, allowlists and one MCP server per system boundary.
  • Context and reliability — context management, evaluation sets and regression on every change.

Who can take the Claude Certified Architect exam?

Anthropic makes its Claude certification exams available to members of the Claude Partner Network. Membership is free: a firm joins and registers its practitioners at claude.com/partners. If your firm is not yet a member, joining is the first step.

What are the four Claude certifications?

Claude Certified Associate: Foundations, for everyday practical use of Claude; Claude Certified Developer: Foundations, for engineers building applications; Claude Certified Architect: Foundations, for solution architects designing agent systems; and Claude Certified Architect: Professional, the advanced credential for enterprise-scale integration.

How is the exam delivered?

Is this an official Anthropic course, and do you guarantee a pass?

Neither. Focus20 Labs is a Claude Partner Network member, and this is our own preparation, delivered alongside Anthropic’s official Partner Academy material rather than instead of it. No one can honestly guarantee a pass on a proctored exam; what we do is run a readiness check so nobody books the exam before they are ready.

Can you prepare a whole team, not just one architect?

Yes. Prep runs as a cohort or in small groups, remote or on-site. For people who need Claude fluency rather than an Architect credential, our internal pathway and role-based Claude training are usually the better fit.
